Climate Landscape:

The Netherlands are situated in West-Europe.
The North-sea borders the north-side. Germany is on the
eastern side and Belgium is the southern neighbour.
The sea-climate gives a moderate weather-pattern.
Rain is falling all over the year and temperatures vary
from 0 Celsius in February to 25 Celsius in July.

The "Wadden"islands we find most north on the northern
latitude 53 '52'5. In Eijsden is the most southern point of
"Holland" 50'45'5.

Rivers: Rhine, Meuse, Waal, IJssel and Schelde.
Channels: Northsea-channel, Amsterdam -Rhinechannel.

Demography:

Structured very differently: The biggest part is native Dutch.
Then many people from the colonies came to Holland:
Suriname-South-Molukken-Indonesia, Antillen and
"guest workers" from Italy, Poland, Morocco and Greece
were attracted by the many jobs, who were offered in the
coal-mines of South-Limburg, the most
southern province.

In the western provinces North- and South-Holland and Utrecht,
also called the "randstad" is the most density of population,
where almost half of the population lives.
The Netherlands belong to the most dense populated countries
in the world: 350 inhabitants Km sq.
Overseas emigration to Canada and Australia is still continuing,
but is is not as high as in the fifties.

The Netherlands have excellent well-fare facilities. Everybody is
capable to have a basic income, enough food and an own home.
Healthcare is organised on a high standard and that causes one
of the lowest infant mortality in the world. Illiteracy turns up
sporadic. From the age of 7 until 15 children have compulsory
education. There are 13 universities and many professional
institutions in The Netherlands.
