In May 1998 the development of the Parkstad Site started.


At first this site has been developed under the name: Global View.
You will notice this name at the English pages of the images-part.

No doubt the experience of most webmasters will be, that their site
has to be limited to a certain subject. The tendency to extend the
contents can lead to endless programming.
However, some parts of this widened contents I use in the Parkstad-site.

Since may 2000 however, we have changed our policy and turned
Parkstad.com into a commercial site.

Read about the supporting group of individuals and organisations.
  • parkstad.com wants to contribute to the success of the parkstad formula.
  • Parkstad wants: To inform about local, national and international matters.
  • How to achieve this: Gathering data of several media.
  • Direct input of individuals, institutions, companies and ...Internet.

     Parkstad Limburg counts eight cities. At first the city of Heerlen
    has been chosen to be focused. As this site is under construction,
    we hope to satisfy visitors from the other cities in the near future.

    Some parts of this site are only in English or in Dutch. A translation
    into German is no problem but it appeared not possible.
    In future it still can be done.

    In Mei 1998 startte de ontwikkeling van de Parkstad Site.

    Aanvankelijk is de site ontwikkeld onder de naam: Global View.
    U zult deze naam opmerken bij het Engelse gedeelte van de afbeeldingen.

    Ongetwijfeld zal de ervaring van de meeste webmasters zijn, dat
    hun site beperkt moet worden tot een zeker onderwerp.
    De neiging om de inhoud uit te breiden kan leiden tot eindeloos programmeren.
    Een deel hiervan gebruiken we in parkstad.com.

    Onze policy is echter sinds mei 2000 veranderd en Parkstad.com is nu
    een commerciele site.

    Lees over de ondersteunende groep personen en organisaties van deze site.

    Parkstad Limburg telt acht steden. Aanvankelijk is de stad Heerlen
    gekozen als focus. Daar deze site in opbouw is, hopen wij in de
    nabije toekomst bezoekers van de andere steden tevreden te stellen.

    Sommige gedeelten van deze site zijn enkel in het Engels of
    in het Nederlands. Een Duitse vertaling is geen probleem
    doch onhaalbaar gebleken. In de toekomst is dit niet uitgesloten.
